Movember

What is Movember? It is an annual event involving the growing of mustaches during the month of November to raise awareness of men's health issues, such as prostate cancer and other male cancers. Starting November 1st and ending at the end of November, many teachers and other people will be growing mustaches in order to raise money or awareness to battle those health issues.

Here are some different types of mustaches:

For most guys, as I guess most of the ladies do not want to have mustaches, try and grow one in support of the other guys in the world who are growing mustaches and to further fight against prostate cancer!!!

Happy Halloween

Today is Halloween and many children will be dressing up and going trick-or-treating.  Some of the costumes the children wear are really nice and well-made.

Carving pumpkins are a common activity  to do at Halloween

This song is commonly heard during Halloween.  Enjoy Halloween everyone and hopefully you will dress up and go out to a Halloween party!

Dog Videos

As all of you students know, I have a dog that I love very much.  Everyday we go for walks around town and he travels with me wherever I go.  His name is Ollie and he is 11 years old.  My friend found him on the street when he was about 4 months old and he was given to me two months later.  We have been together since, and we have traveled all around Korea.

Sleeping on me, while I watch TV.

Not just Ollie, but all animals I love.  I found some funny videos on the internet of some dogs that I would like to share with you.
The first video is of a dog dancing to Gangnam Style.  I just love how this dog actually seems to be doing the dance.  I would love to see this in person.

The second video is of a dog that seems to be able to do anything.  This dog is so smart.  Probably smarter than most of us!  I just love how he closes the dog and goes outside to collect the mail.  The amount of hours the owner spent training this dog is unbelievable.

I know some of you have pets and I would love it if you showed me some pictures of your pets and any funny videos.  Please say your animals name and any funny stories about your animal.

Season is starting for hockey!

Today, Wednesday in North America is the start of the NHL (National Hockey League) season.  My favourite team is the Toronto Maple Leafs.  Hockey is not a popular sport in Korea, but in Canada and it is the most popular sport.  Each year 30 teams play to win the Stanley Cup (picture below).  I am hoping this year Toronto will have a decent team to make the playoffs.  Last year the Los Angeles Kings won the Stanley Cup.  If you get a chance to watch any games on the internet, as it is not on tv in Korea I would recommend watching it.  I have included a good video to show you what happened last year in hockey and to give a brief overview of the coolness of the game.  Enjoy!  GO LEAFS GO!!!!

Softball

Many of my weekends in Korea are spent playing softball.  Softball is not played in Korea, unless you play it with the different teams of foreigners in different cities throughout this country.  This past week, three teams, one from Daegu, Busan and Pohang played their 2nd round of the Silla Tournament.  This tournament is a three round series with the best team at the end winning the Kimichi Pot Trophy.  I am playing for the Pohang team and we were 1-1, as we lost to Daegu and then beat Busan.  It was a lot of fun and we had some beautiful weather.  Here are some pictures of my team and from the games this weekend.

Arsenal

Some of you may know that Arsenal is my favourite football team.  This past week they drew 1-1 with Tottenham.  This is a very famous video on Youtube of the Arsenal supporters showing their disgust for Tottenham.  My favourite part of the video is when the main guy says 'Thank you' and all the supporters respond with 'That's alright.'  I hope everyone enjoys.

This video is the same song but with Jack Wilshere leading the charge.  I love that all the Arsenal players sing along with it.
